​In January, a study by workforce solutions firm ManpowerGroup found AI adoption jumped by 13% from last year, yet worker confidence in AI slipped 18% in that same timeframe. That’s leading to a worrying trend: Those workers are seeing AI speed up their work and increase their output, but the results of that output are becoming more error-prone.

​This combination has exacerbated a “trust gap” mounting in the AI space, the difference between the perception of what AI is capable of and what it can actually do (promise versus reality). If this technology is to find success and mass acceptance, we’re going to need to find ways of bridging that gap before it’s too late.
